hi，Astrid.,i'm very pleased to show you some wonderful places of Beijing,if i have time then. I'm looking forward to see you all here.

Usually traveler checks have a better exhange rate ($1 = 8.3 RMB, 1 euro = 10
RMB).
Except in few fancy shops that accept credit cards, you will have to pay any
purchase cash.

Royal king hotel-beijing is the only Five-star hotel nearby. Another choice is Kezuo apartment that behind the meeting place or Wuke hotel that lies opposit the Venue.They're not that Luxurious,maybe just Three-star.

did you reserve a hotel?i reserved already a room in "royal king hotel-beijing" but did anybody find a nearest hotel to the venue?

Kezuo Apartment doesn't have a website,just some information from other website.But it is the nearest one apart from the Venue,just 630 metres. Wuke hotel is 1.8 kilometres,while royal-king is about 2.5 kilometres from the Venue.

I will also be attending, along with my colleague from Duke, Paolo Mangiafico. We are arriving on Sunday and staying until Friday, also in the Friendship Hotel. Happy to meet up with like-mind friends from the OA community!

I am very sorry I cannot attend the conference...
I'm glad if there is a live webcast (e.g. ustream) or like that. Do you know about this?
