LATN Fellowship: Exploring Inclusive Solutions in OER

With an underrepresentation of diverse voices in traditionally published textbooks, Open Educational Resources (OER) provide an opportunity to address the problem of imbalance by opening authorship to marginalised groups – but how do we, as open educational practitioners, advocates and librarians, facilitate and engage in respectful collaborations to grow these powerful projects?

In this talk, Ash Barber discusses her Libraries of the Australian Technology Network (LATN) Fellowship tour of North America which explores this question and seeks practical guiding resources for adaptation and reuse by Australian librarians. Ash offers key insights gleaned so far as well as hints of the forthcoming online resource which will provide a place for Australian librarians to begin facilitating the creation of inclusive OER.
