Suzanna Marazza from CCdigitallaw of the Università della Svizzera italiana will give a workshop on funder requirements and publishers’ conditions:
- What is the difference between the role of the right holder and that of the author?
- What are the different legal implications on these subjects of a publishing contract and of a license to publish?
- Am I allowed to publish a version of my paper on the institutional repository before the end of the embargo?
- Which provision of the contract may I negotiate?
- And how do I negotiate my rights using the Rights Retention Strategy if the SNSF requires me to keep my copyright?
The goal of this workshop is to give a very brief overview of copyright, answer these and other questions related to the interests of the funders, interests of the publishers and possible conflicts between them and the author/researcher and eventually to find possible solutions.
