Using Open Data from Remote Sensing for assessment of Ecosystem Health with Jakub Zelený (People in Need)

  • Prague, Prague Czechia (map)

Jakub Zelený has worked on environmental issues as part of his undergraduate studies, focusing on integrating data and methods from the social and natural sciences. As part of his PhD studies at Charles University, he developed a method for assessing the ecosystem health of territorial units based on data from Remote Sensing of the Earth. He is currently working for People in Need as an environmental advisor. In this talk, he will show what information can be obtained from images from publicly available databases and what surprising conclusions can analyse of these data lead to. Join us to find out how Open Science principles can be used to benefit science and society. The event will be in English, please REGISTER if you are interested.
